ALCO MARINE ENGINE CYLINDER HEADS

For several decades, UPC has renovated ALCO marine engine cylinder heads. We have conducted the inspection and reconstruction according to the standards of many major manufacturers. A complete record allows the traceability of the operations in compliance with our ISO 9001 certified quality management system.

To this day, more than 3,000 cylinder heads have passed through our workshops!

VOLVO PENTA MARINE LOWER GEARBOX

UPC rebuilds Volvo Penta marine lower gearbox for several clients of the fishing, cruise or pleasure-boating industries. These marine lower gearbox required precise, rigorous work in order to obtain the required quality and reliability.

Counterbore

DETROIT DIESEL SERIES 60 AND MERCEDES ENGINE BLOCKS

UPC performs the counterbore for Detroit Diesel Series 60 and Mercedes engine blocks. For nearly 20 years, our team has counterbored more than 15,000 cylinders in our workshops and throughout Québec.

This operation is required to renovate the engine when the cylinder liner journal has collapsed, causing a loss of tightness with the surface of the cylinder head. For each counterbore, we guarantee the quality and accuracy of the operation to ensure the tightness of the system: cylinder head, gasket, cylinder liner and engine block.

UPC has also counterbored many engines of all sizes!

ENGINE COMPONENTS USED IN HIGH CAPACITY LOADERS AND 240-TON MINING TRUCKS

UPC renovates engine components used by large mining companies in northern Québec and Labrador. Whether it is Detroit Diesel, MTU or any other brand, we carry out the inspection of the engine components: cylinder heads, crankshafts, connecting rods, turbocompressors, injectors, injection pumps, etc. We can also remanufacture them if necessary.

STEERING PARTS FOR MINING TRUCKS

Using our mobile machining equipment, we renovate the steering components of mining trucks. We can also recharge by welding and rebuilding all wear surfaces of all machinery so that they return to their original condition.

Re-engining

UNDERGROUND LOADER WITH A CERTIFIED CANMET AND MSHA MERCEDES ENGINE

We are a partner of choice in the re-engining of underground mining equipment: loaders, trucks, carriers, bolters, etc. These re-engining operations save money since they increase the performance of the machine. They also improve the ventilation rate of the mine through the use of more efficient engines.

Over the years, UPC has rebuilt several hundred construction equipment engines, according to the needs and requirements of our clients. All the engines rebuilt in our workshops have been tested on a dynamometer test bench, so the quality and performance are guaranteed.

UPC re-engined a compactor with a Kubota OC95 10-HP engine. Over the years, we have brought all types of equipment back to life to increase their performance and reliability or to help our clients save money.

INDUSTRIAL PRESS CRANKSHAFT

Each year, UPC checks and rebuilds an industrial press crankshaft for a leader in the nonwoven fabric industry. We annually maintain this mechanical component, which is a key part of the production line. As part of the customer’s preventive maintenance program, we guarantee that no loss of production will result from a crankshaft breakage.

Complete Renovation

ALCO 251 LOCOMOTIVE ENGINE

UPC has entirely renovated a 1,750-HP 16 cylinder 251 ALCO locomotive engine. The complete rebuilding in our workshops allowed efficient and high quality work, in a controlled environment. In addition to completely disassembling the engine, we inspected, qualified, renovated, tested and reinstalled the components to have a flawless final assembly. We have given the engine a new life to allow it to pull millions of tons of bulk on the tracks of the northern coasts of Québec and Labrador!
